As assumed, François Hollande was elected as President of France. Perhaps due to the resentment towards Nicolas Sarkozy within Turkish public opinion, although it cannot be characterized as purely sympathy, some kind of tolerance exists towards Hollande. But is France’s new President really deserving of this?

Since Bill Clinton, US Presidents issued a statement each year on 24 April named as “Armenian Remembrance Day” and in order not to offend Turkey, they did not characterize the 1915 events as genocide, but instead used some other words which carried a similar meaning.
