Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkul Karman said that an awakening movement was continuing in Arab world which wanted to have equality.
Speaking at the inauguration of a conference in Istanbul on Saturday, Yemeni journalist Karman said that all countries which were affected by Arab Spring wanted to have a democratic system as well as the advancement seen in developed countries.
Noting that Arab world had been ruled by dictatorial regimes for years, Karman said that now each citizen wanted to have honor and freedom, adding that they would not return to old ruling systems. People in Syria want a democratic system and a transparent administration, and to end the corruption which is the starting point of Arab Spring, said Karman. Karman noted that the whole world was closely watching the developments in Arab world.
