United Air Lines will launch direct flights between Istanbul and New York as of July 2, 2012.
United flight will depart from Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport daily at 1:55 p.m. and arrive at New York/Newark at 6:02 p.m. the same day and flight will depart from New York/Newark daily at 7:27 p.m. and arrive in Istanbul at 12:20 p.m. the next day.
Marcel Fuchs, Sales Managing Director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East of United Air Lines, held a press conference in Istanbul, saying that upon a great demand, the company decided to launch Istanbul-New York direct flights as of July. Replying to a question, Fuchs said that there was a great cooperation between United Air Lines and Turkish Airlines (THY). The airline will initially operate the services with three-cabin Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 183 seats - six in United Global First, 26 in United BusinessFirst and 151 in United Economy, including 67 Economy Plus seats with added legroom. United Air Lines is an American airline, one of the world's largest airlines with 86,852 employees and operating the second-largest fleet with 702 aircraft. United is a founding member of the Star Alliance, the largest airline alliance in the world, and offers connections to over 1,000 destinations in over 170 countries worldwide.
