"American Muslims: Shaping the Future Through Faith and Vision" is the theme of the gathering
The 16th Islamic Circle of North America-Muslim American Society Convention, one of the largest Muslim gatherings in North America, started Thursday in the U.S. city of Chicago.
The gathering is expected to host leading American Muslim NGOs as well as tens of thousands of Muslims from across the U.S. under the theme of "American Muslims: Shaping the Future Through Faith and Vision."
Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD), Turkey's international news platform TRT World, and the Turkish American National Steering Committee - TASC will have booths at the convention.
Mehdi Eker, deputy chair of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, will speak during the gathering.
The convention will focus on Islamophobia, racism, extremism, and unity, according to its website.
It ends on Saturday.
