“Brooklyn stands with our neighbors in Lower Manhattan in mourning the victims of today’s vehicle attack along a neighborhood bike path. Our communities are no strangers to terror, and the pain of this horrific incident reopens the wounds of tragedies past. The innocent people we lost to this cowardly act will not be forgotten, nor will those who were injured. I thank our first responders for their incredible work that undoubtedly saved lives on this busy Halloween afternoon, as well as all those who will protect and serve us in the days ahead.
“New Yorkers refuse to surrender to terror. We are the definition of resilience and resolve, and we will continue to be. We will stay vigilant in the face of this violence, just as we will remain determined to live our lives to the fullest.”
