Donald Trump's golf clubs hanged a fake Time magazine cover bearing the president's own portrait and were asked by the magazine to take the covers off. The fake cover, dated March 1, 2009, features a headline saying "Donald Trump: The 'Apprentice' is a television smash!"
Reports noted that the cover is not authentic and that the magazine did not publish any covers featuring Trump in 2009.
The actual March 1, 2009 issue of the magazine featured Kate Winslet as the best actress.
A spokeswoman for Time, Kerri Chyka, said that the company has asked the Trump Organization to remove the covers from at least 5 locations where it is displayed.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders declined to say anything about the fake cover.
The creator of the fake Time covers and why he/she made it still remains a mystery.
