President of the American-Turkish Council and former U.S. ambassador James Holmes said Sunday, with its independent role and close relations with the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Turkey could be a role model for the countries of the world.
Speaking to the AA, James Holmes stressed that the United States would be very pleased with Turkey's constructive, restorative and mediatory role regarding Iran.
The Barack Obama administration is aware of Turkey's crucial role in reaching common goals with Turkey, including in the fields where the United States is not much successful and has failed, Holmes also said.
