Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Friday with Ekmeleddin Ihsanolgu, secretary general of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Davutoglu and Ihsanoglu discussed ways to boost cooperation between Turkey and the OIC, latest developments in Afghanistan and Somalia as well as details about a prospective conference, which is set to be held to extend aid to Darfur.
The Turkish foreign minister is paying an official visit to Saudi Arabia as the guest of his counterpart Saud al-Faysal bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud.
Davutoglu is set to proceed to Riyadh on Saturday and meet with Saud al-Faysal. He is also scheduled be received by Saudi King Abdallah bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud on Sunday.
Davutoglu will depart from Riyadh Sunday evening.
