Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Monday that the relations between Turkey and Kuwait were satisfactory in the recent period. Speaking to reporters at Ankara's International Esenboga Airport prior to his departure for Kuwait, Gul said that it would be the first visit by a Turkish president to Kuwait in the last 12 years.

Gul said that he would exchange views with Kuwaiti officials about regional and international matters.

Noting that he would attend Turkey-Kuwait Business Forum, Gul said that Kuwait was one of the biggest oil producers of the world, and it would make a few hundred billion USD of investments in infrastructure in coming period. He added that there were big business opportunities for Turkish contractors and consultancy companies in Kuwait.

Gul also expressed hope that his visit would bring a momentum to the relations.

Turkish State Minister & Deputy Premier Ali Babacan, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu, several deputies and businessmen are accompanying Gul in his visit.
