Turkey became one of 13 countries whose ratings were upgraded in 2009.

Earlier this month, international credit ratings agency Fitch upgraded Turkey's rating two grades to "BB+". Fitch also upgraded Turkey's long-term national currency issuer default rating to "BB+" from BB, and its country ceiling rating to "BBB-" from BB.

Meanwhile, ratings of 52 countries including Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Thailand and Mexico were decreased.
