The Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders got closer on categorizing properties on Friday.

 

President Mehmet Ali Talat and the Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias met at the buffer zone in Lefkosa, Cyprus within the framework of ongoing negotiations to solve Cyprus problem.

"We have got closer on categorizing properties in our meeting," Talat told reporters after the meeting.

Earlier this week, envoys of the two leaders met a couple of times and worked on categories of properties.

Talat said Christofias and he aimed to reach a further compromise on categorizing properties.

Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders launched Cyprus talks in September 2008 in an effort to find a solution to the Cyprus issue. The first round of the talks was completed on August 6, 2009. And the second round started on September 10.
