Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks, Egemen Bagis, said Monday Turkey had the strength, knowledge, excitement and will power to successfully complete the negotiations process within a win-win perspective.

Speaking at the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission meeting in Ankara, Bagis said that Turkey's membership to the EU was an historical and geographical necessity.

As such, the EU should be loyal to the principle of "pacta sunt servanda", Bagis said.

The only goal of Turkey-EU negotiations is full membership to the union, Bagis stressed.

We face difficulty in explaining to the Turkish public the blockade placed on the negotiations process due to political considerations, Bagis said.

Certain policies of various EU member countries on Turkey will not divert us from the EU process, Bagis also said.
