The United States media commented on Saturday that the normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations would have a positive impact on the whole Caucasus.

The U.S. media gave coverage to the protocols signed by Turkey and Armenia in Zurich on Saturday.

The Washington Post newspaper said that Turkey and Armenia signed protocols that would be a (positive) turning point in relations and that would lead to the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Washington Post newspaper also said that the approval of the protocols by the parliaments of Turkey and Armenia would have an impact beyond the region.

CNN television reported that "the last minute disagreement on the speech texts almost resulted in the cancellation of the signature ceremony in Zurich".

Los Angeles Times, on the other hand, said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia could reduce tension in the Caucasus and contribute to the role of the region as an energy corridor.
